Abstract 

The project aims to study from a sociolinguistic and sociological point of view some foreign communities descending from migration flows from Veneto, Friuli, Tuscany, Campania and the Franco-Provençal area of Apulia. Specifically, the objectives are:

- define the degree of linguistic vitality of the migrated varieties among emigrants and their descendants abroad.

- analyze the internal vitality and linguistic changes induced in these migrated and heritage languages by contact with the host country varieties.

- detect aspects such as social networks, degrees of socio-economic and cultural inclusion in the host society, identity-attitudinal positions of the informants.
