Objectives

The student will conduct laboratory for a total of 45 hours of activities in order to acquire the knowledge and dexterity to perform some basic analytical determinations of animal feed.

Program

During this period of activity, the student will learn the analytical methods and carry out the chemical analyzes of animal feed following the Weende and Van Soest methodologies.
The analysis will concern the determination of the following chemical components:

Total Nitrogen (Kjeldahl)
Ether Extract
Crude Fibre (Henneberg & Stohmann, Weende)
NDF, ADF. ADL (Van Soest)
Ash.
In addition to the analytical methods, the practice will concern the procedures for the preparation and processing of samples and laboratory safety.

Finalità

Lo studente svolgerà attività di laboratorio per complessive 45 ore di attività effettiva al fine di acquisire le conoscenze e la manualità fondamentali per eseguire alcune determinazioni analitiche su alimenti zootecnici.

Programma

Durante tale periodo di tempo apprenderà le metodologie analitiche ed eseguirà analisi chimiche su alimenti zootecnici seguendo gli schemi Weende e Van Soest.
Le metodologie oggetto dell’attività di laboratorio sono le seguenti:
Azoto totale (Kjeldahl)
Estratto etereo
Fibra grezza (Henneberg & Stohmann, Weende)
NDF, ADF. ADL (Van Soest)
Ceneri.
Oltre alle metodologie analitiche, la pratica riguarderà le procedure di preparazione e trattamento dei campioni e la sicurezza nel laboratorio.
