The University of Udine has signed a framework agreement with the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia to promote the "Home-Work by Bike" project, with the aim of encouraging the use of bicycles as the main means of transportation for commuting between home and university. This initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact associated with motor vehicle usage and promote a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.
In line with this commitment, dedicated cycling infrastructure such as bike racks, charging stations, and repair stations will be installed at all university campuses throughout 2024. In the following years, cycling infrastructure will be optimized to facilitate access to UNIUD campuses, involving neighboring municipalities. Additionally, there will be an analysis of the health benefits of active mobility through periodic medical examinations.
