Educational objectives
Graduates will work in research and development, planning, programming, quality control, the management, maintenance and verification of software and systems for generating, transmitting and processing information, in sectors as diverse as industries, IT and ICT services, public administration, healthcare, scientific research, the environment, multimedia and, in general, all those organizations that make use of complex information systems.
The course builds on the theoretical and methodological bases acquired during the three-year undergraduate Degree in Computer Science. You will study for example: computer security, computer and network architecture, use of artificial intelligence systems, workflow and data warehouse systems, interactive systems and computational linguistics.
Professional opportunities
Graduates with a Master Degree in Computer Science will be able to cover professional roles in the fields of planning, programming, creating, organizing, and managing information systems, in a variety of sectors, such as industries, IT and ICT services, public administrations, healthcare, scientific research, environment and territory, culture and cultural goods, multimedia and, in general, all organizations which make use of complex information systems.
Those with a Master Degree in Computer Science can also participate in the selections for higher levels of university education, such as a PhD in Computer Science. Moreover, Master graduates who obtain a qualification in the Class LM-18 Computer Science can be admitted to the Register of Engineers, Section A, Information Sector, after passing the State Qualification Exam.
Master Graduates can also seek a teaching career in schools after having completed the teaching qualification procedure, in compliance with the legislation in force.
