Educational objectives

The environmental industry is becoming a key sector of the modern economy, with an increase in the demand for jobs aimed at managing environmental problems all over the EU, in both public administration and in the private sector. The Degree Course in Environmental Science prepares graduates able to fill these vacancies.

Professional opportunities

Graduates in Environmental Science can find work in labor segments in which there is growing demand; in particular, they can provide support, at intermediate decision-making levels, in:
- activities for the surveying, classification, analysis, re-establishment and preservation of the abiotic and biotic components of natural and anthropized ecosystems;
- activities for the analysis and monitoring of environmental systems and processes in order to promote environmental quality, recovery and an alternative use of primary resources;
- activities for the localization, diagnostics, protection and recovery of environmental goods;
- activities in parks, natural reserves, scientific museums and didactic centers;
- technical professions in public boards or private firms, which survey, analyze and monitor environmental systems and processes and promote the adoption of internal environmental policies. In compliance with the President of the Republic Act 05/06/2001 n. 328 and corresponding dispositions of Ministerial Decree 26/07/2007 n. 386, the three-year degree in Environmental Science is a pre-requisite for admission to the State exam for qualifying as and registering in the professional rolls of - architects, planners, landscapers and preservers, Section B – planning sector (title of junior planner) - biologists, Section B (title of junior biologist).

The Course prepares students to be: 
- architects, town planners, and experts in territorial recovery and preservation; 
- biologists; 
- ecologists; 
- specialists in management and control in private firms
