Description
The research group focuses on the energy performance of the building-HVAC system and on the thermo-hygrometric behaviour of the building envelope.
Strategies for improving the energy performance of the building-HVAC system are investigated using dynamic simulation with a focus on optimising the management of the energy flows in favour of self-consumption of energy produced by renewable sources and the integration of systems according to Demand Side Management rules.
In the field of thermo-hygrometric behaviour of the building envelope, the group has the skills and the equipment (Dynamic Vapour Sorption analyser) for the hygroscopic characterisation of building materials and the assessment, by means of dynamic simulation, of the coupled moisture and heat transfer through structures.
