Group's website
Description
The Group is engaged in the study of the mechanical behavior of reinforced concrete (r.c.) structural elements and the advanced seismic protection of new and existing buildings. The activities are theoretical, computational and experimental in nature. As regards r.c. elements, the Group deals with bar-concrete bond behavior and shear strength of squat corbels, slender and deep beams and beam-column joints. In the field of seismic protection, the Group studies innovative seismic isolators with carbon fiber reinforcements and bracing systems, both traditional and equipped with energy dissipation devices. The Group has also initiated studies on climate-friendly and resource-efficient structural strengthening systems.
