Prerequisiti e propedeuticità/Requirements
Prerequisites are the course of Economia e gestione delle imprese and Organizzazione aziendale.
Conoscenze e abilità da acquisire/Knowlwdge and skills
At the end of the module, the student should know the main theories on teams, motivation, power, conflict resolution, cultural differences.
Competences: the module aims at supporting the student in the development of specialised knowledge on individuals, their motivations and conflicts. A specific focus will be given to the understanding power, cultural differences and communication in a globalised world.
Use of knowledge and competences: the notions acquired during the course shall allow the student to solve complex case studies.
Soft skills: autonomous judgment: at the end of the course the student shall be able to assess the origins of human resource management problems and to identify the best tools and tecniques to solve them.
Communication: at the end of the module the student shall be able to make a professional presentation of a case study in English.
Learning: at the end of the module the student shall be able to quickly assess the main dynamics of the organisational behaviour in a company.
Programma e contenuti dell'insegnamento/Course description
The module consists of 4 parts:
Part 1: Organizational Behavior: The Quest for People-Centered Organizations and Ethical Conduct
Part 2: Individual Behavior in Organizations. Key Individual Differences and the Road to Success. Values, Attitudes, Job Satisfaction, and Counterproductive Work Behaviors. Social Perception and Attributions. Foundations of Motivation. Improving Job Performance with Goals, Feedback, Rewards, and Positive Reinforcement
Part 3: Group and Social Processes. Group Dynamics. Developing and Leading Effective Teams. Individual and Group Decision-Making. Managing Conflict and Negotiating
Part 4: Organizational Processes. Influence Tactics, Empowerment, and Politics. Leadership
Attività di apprendimento e metodi didattici previsti/Teaching and Learning activities
Learning materials consist in books, online materials, other materials distributed in class, a blog, scientific journals, online videos.
Teaching methods consist in lectures, exercises, team works, presentations by entrepreneurs.
Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento/Examination
Lectures are in English. The exam can either be oral in English or written in Italian.
