Man-Machine Interaction
Description
The Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Physics of the University of Udine was one of the first university centres in Italy committed to researching the field of Human-Computer Interaction, with the establishment of the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory (HCI Lab) in 1998 by Professor Luca Chittaro. The research activities performed in this field in the Department study new modes of interaction with technologies and how they can be applied in domains of interest for society, such as safety and health. A particular emphasis is placed on Mobile Apps, Virtual Reality, Serious Game, and Multi-Modal Interfaces. The research also includes multi-discipline collaborations exploring the links among Informatics, Psychology and Neuroscience.
Some members of the group carry out their research activities within the context of international projects and collaborations with bodies such as the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the French Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation (INRIA).
