Mechanical Engineering

The Bachelor's Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering aims to train a graduate so that he/she holds all the theoretical and practical aspects pertaining to the complex modern-day industrial organisation system. The study plan aims to form a technician with a solid engineering background capable of carrying out executive design of product and process, product development, installation and testing of complex systems and machinery, maintenance and management of production departments along with promotion, sales and technical support activities.

Students who graduate in Mechanical Engineering are able to design and develop products and processes, install and test machines and systems, maintain and manage production units and also to perform promotional activities, sales and technical assistance. This requires solid basic knowledge in the field of physics, mathematics and chemistry, knowledge of materials and a basic knowledge of mechanical engineering, in particular design methods and mechanical structural calculus, production technologies, thermodynamics, heat exchange and machines.
During the Course, you will study physics and mathematics, chemistry and materials (mathematical analysis, physics, algebra, chemistry and science of materials, rational mechanics) and basic industrial engineering (IT, electrotechnics, economics and fluid-dynamics), a basic study of mechanical engineering (mechanical design, applied mechanics, technical physics, machines, mechanical behavior of materials and construction of machines, mechanical technology).
Graduates find work in various fields, including: computer-assisted design, production, management and organization, assistance to technical-commercial structures. They find employment in engineering Companies, scientific and applied research institutions, as well as in public administration. The main occupational opportunities are: mechanical and electro-mechanical industries, energy conversion Companies, plant engineering enterprises, automation industries, manufacturing industries in general for the production, installation, management and maintenance of machines, production lines and departments.

Graduates in Mechanical Engineering are able to work in various fields, including: computer-assisted design, production, management and organization, assistance to technical-commercial structures. As well as opportunities for employment in industry, the graduate in Mechanical Engineering can find interesting professional opportunities at study centers, engineering Companies, scientific and applied research institutions, as well as in public administration. The main occupational opportunities are as follows: mechanical and electro-mechanical industries, Companies and bodies involved in energy conversion, plant engineering enterprises, automation industries, manufacturing industries in general for the production, installation, management and maintenance of machines, production lines and departments. The versatile training that characterizes the mechanical engineer is also appreciated in small and medium enterprises, where an ability to adapt, a flexible approach and a multi-disciplinary background are required.

The job market has always welcomed the figure of the Mechanical Engineer with considerable interest. Systematic surveys confirm that the Mechanical Engineer is in great demand, among the first on the list, whether this is a general list or restricted to Engineering graduates, both with regard to the percentage of employed one year after graduation, and also for job security and average remuneration.
