Educational objectives

If you follow the Physiotherapy Course, you will acquire all the skills needed to become a professional physiotherapist. This includes a theoretical and practical training so that, at the end of the course, you are guaranteed a full mastery of all the necessary skills that will enable you to find employment immediately. The practical training and clinical internships are particularly important, as an integral and qualifying part of the professional training.
You will also have knowledge of the ethical, deontological and legal dimensions of your work, as well as inter-personal skills which are required not only in your relations with patients, but also with different professional figures. You will know at least one language of the European Union (English).
You will easily find employment in public health facilities delivering rehabilitation services. Among these, the main ones are health authorities (in wards and services that are specialized or dedicated to rehabilitation), social-health districts, health care residential centers, home assistance, care homes for the elderly, and social-health services working in various fields for the rehabilitation of the disabled. You can also work private health facilities accredited by the National Health Care System, in cooperatives operating in the social-health field, or as free-lancers who provide ordinary citizens, public and private institutions, sports clubs etc. with rehabilitation treatments.

Professional opportunities

Graduates in Physiotherapy find employment as:

- employees in public health facilities dealing with the supply of rehabilitation services of first, second and third level. Among these, the main ones are health authorities (in wards and services that are specialized or dedicated to rehabilitation), social-health districts, health care residential centers, integral home assistance, care homes for the elderly, social-health services working in various fields  for the rehabilitation of the disabled, municipalities, constituencies;
- employees in private health facilities accredited by the National Health Care System;
- employees in cooperatives operating in the social-health field, in spas etc.;
- free-lancers who, through free enterprises, provide ordinary citizens, public and private institutions, sports clubs etc. with rehabilitation and functional re-education treatments.

Graduate physiotherapists have the right of free movement in the countries of the European Union, as established by the law in force, and in all those non-EU countries where such qualification is recognized as equivalent. The employment rate for physiotherapists has always shown a balance between supply and demand, also due to the immediate effectiveness the physiotherapist enjoys at the end of the training course. Recently, however, there has been a gradual but constant rise in the demand, by both public and private health structures: this is evidence of the importance that rehabilitation is taking on in the various fields and in the different age brackets.
