Safety and Civil Protection (Sicurezza e protezione civile)
Teacher
Prof aggr. Stefano Grimaz
Credits
6 CFU
Objectives
The course aims: to introduce the safety engineering principles and criteria for analyzing and managing the territorial risks within an intersectoral framework; to provide knowledge about methods and techniques of safety engineering; to identify strategies for prevention and protection planning for the management of emergencies; to make known the approach of disaster management and the organization of the Italian Civil Protection system; to experiment and use engineering tools and techniques for safety planning and for emergency management.
Acquired skills
Conceptual references for safety analysis and management within an integrated framework.
Strategies for risk mitigation with particular reference to the seismic risk and fire safety in terms of civil protection.
Methods of analysis of scenarios for the characterization of the conditions of risk and the prioritization of intervention with particular reference to the risk of earthquake and fires.
Damage, safety and usability assessments in the post-earthquake emergency.
Role of the risk assessment and management within prevention and safety planning
Knowledge of the main legislative references on the subject.
